How to remove a password from a PDF
Bank statements, payslips and utility bills often arrive password-protected, which gets tedious when you open them every month or need to upload them elsewhere. If you know the password, Unlock PDF saves a copy without it, decrypted right in your browser.
Open passwords and owner restrictions
Some PDFs need a password just to open. Others open freely but block printing, copying or editing with an owner password. For the second kind, try unlocking without entering anything: it often works and removes the restrictions.
What this tool will not do
Unlock PDF is not a password cracker. It does not guess or brute-force unknown passwords, and it should only be used on documents you are entitled to open. If you have lost the password to your own file, ask the sender for an unprotected copy.
Nothing else changes
The document is decrypted and saved again, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable, links keep working and images keep their quality. Only the password protection is removed. To add protection back later, with a password of your choice, use Protect PDF.
Why remove a password you already know
Unprotected copies are easier to archive, search on your computer, merge with other documents and upload to accounting or government portals that reject encrypted files. Keep the unlocked copy somewhere private, since anyone who gets the file can now open it without a password.
